Meet Dr. Patrick Thompson: Fellowship-Trained Osteopractic Physical Therapist in Lafayette, LA
I help active adults who feel like nothing has worked finally get answers, lasting relief, and the confidence to keep doing what they love, without the fear of the next pain flare-up.

Why I Do What I Do
Over the years, I've met thousands of people who had been dealing with pain for so long that they had started to wonder if this was simply their "new normal."
Many had already tried stretches, injections, massage, adjustments, or even Physical Therapy, yet they still didn't have answers. They weren't looking for another temporary fix. They wanted to understand why the pain kept coming back.

As a Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Physical Therapist, my mission is to help active adults uncover the true source of their pain so they can finally get lasting relief and get back to sleeping through the night, playing with their kids, playing golf, training in the gym, and living with confidence again.
That's why I built Flow Physical Therapy & Wellness: a place where every patient receives one-on-one care, a thorough evaluation, and a treatment plan built specifically for them, not their diagnosis alone.

Dr. Patrick Thompson, PT, DPT, OCS, Dip. Osteopractic, FAAOMPT
Owner & Physical Therapist
I'm a Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Physical Therapist, Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, and owner of Flow Physical Therapy & Wellness in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Over the years, I've helped thousands of active adults overcome injuries ranging from everyday aches and pains to complex orthopedic conditions that other treatments failed to resolve. My favorite part of being a Physical Therapist is solving the confusing problems that leave people frustrated and searching for answers.
Whether it's shoulder pain that's actually coming from the neck, "sciatica" that isn't truly sciatica, or recurring pain that keeps coming back despite stretches, injections, or previous Physical Therapy, I enjoy uncovering what's really driving your symptoms so we can build a treatment plan that actually works.
I believe that a specific diagnosis requires a specific treatment plan. That's why every evaluation begins with a thorough assessment designed to understand how your body moves, identify the true source of your pain, and create a personalized plan using the treatment techniques that best fit your unique situation. Depending on your needs, that may include hands-on manual therapy, spinal and joint manipulation, dry needling, corrective exercise, or movement retraining, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Growing up in South Louisiana and playing collegiate baseball gave me a firsthand appreciation for how frustrating injuries can be when they keep you away from doing what you love. That experience ultimately shaped the way I care for patients today. My goal isn't simply to help you hurt less, it's to help you understand your injury, regain confidence in movement, and get back to living without constantly worrying about the next flare-up.
When I'm not in the clinic, you'll usually find me spending time with my wife Melissa, our son, and our dog Biggio, cheering on the Saints and Astros, exploring local restaurants, or probably reading about Physical Therapy, because, admittedly, I really am a bit of a Physical Therapy nerd.

"Flow is the BEST! Dr. Patrick was able to diagnose & treat my AC joint injury with great success. He used a combination of workouts, scraping, cupping, and my favorite, dry needling to help get me back to 100%. They’re not going to give you the run around or keep you coming back for 100 sessions to get you right. As a matter of fact, it only took Dr. Patrick 3 sessions for me to be back in perfect condition. I recommend Flow to anyone that’s having physical issues. They will take care of you!" - Austin B.
